Peter Pan: The Never Ending Wedding – CONGRATULATIONS!!!

PP

Second star to the right and straight on till morning. That’s what Peter Pan promised his Wendy tonight at the Hydro. The cast and crew of Peter Pan, The Never Ending Story wishes them a safe and happy flight together.

Fans watching Peter Pan: The Never Ending Story at the Hydro Arena were given an unexpected fairy tale ending when the show’s lead, Dutch actor Sandor Stürbl proposed on stage to his co-star and girlfriend of two years, Scots actress Lilly Jane Young.

Sandor, 28, halted the show’s final number to say: “normally the show would end with Peter Pan giving Wendy a kiss, but tonight is not a normal show.”

“This is not Peter Pan giving Wendy a kiss, this is Sandor Stürbl giving the love of his life…something much, much more special.”

The romantic actor then stunned the 4,300-strong Hydro Crowd by getting down on one knee and popping the question to a tearful Lilly Jane, whose “Yes” raised the roof.

Peter Pan: The Never Ending Story completes its UK tour at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena on Wednesday and Thursday (15th and 16th January).

VIP party at London Wembley premiere

Peter Pan flew right into the heart of the UK last night with it’s London Premiere at the Wembley Arena. Having had a fantastic two weeks touring including shows at the Birmingham NIA, Leeds First Direct Arena and Manchester Phones 4 U Arena, the cast sang (and danced!) in the New Year with an incredible opening night.

Among the thousands of audience members were some VIP celebrity guests who celebrated the arrival of Peter Pan: The Never Ending Story in the country’s capital city. We had a photographer on hand to capture all of the action – check the pics here:

Do you believe in fairies? (Daily Mail online 14/12/2013)

Do you believe in fairies? Stacey Solomon lifts off in her new role as Tinkerbell in Peter Pan – The Never Ending Story (by Hanna Flint)

Stacey Solomon has reached new career heights…  as Tinker Bell in Peter Pan – The Never Ending Story. The former X Factor contestant – who was runner up in 2009 – landed the magical role for the musical being staged at Birmingham NIA Theatre.

Wearing a silver corset dress with lace up boots and green wings, Stacey, 24, soared across the audience as she sang You Raise Me Up during the show on its opening night.

Speaking of her acting debut, Solomon told the Daily Express: ‘It’s every girl’s dream to play Tinker Bell. My children are over the moon, the can’t wait to see mummy fly. ‘Tinker Bell is quite mischievous, I’m very similar to her. I’m definitely cheeky and I feel like a fairy half the time! Peter Pan is one of my absolute favourite stories,’ the mother-of-two continued. ‘Also, the show looks fantastic – the whole thing is magical.’

One would hope the show looked breathtaking as the production cost more than £10million to create, and will share its magic across the globe for a worldwide tour. But Stacey will only be waving her wand in the UK, as each new country will see a native actress play the role of Tink.

The show boasts a score by Grammy-winning composer Matt Dunkley, but the fantastical show features a variety of pop songs from over the years, from Rod Stewart’s Sailing and Robbie Williams’ Angels to Gilbert & Sullivan’s Pirates Of Penzance and Nessus Dorma by Puccini.

Sandor Sturbl plays the boy who never grew up, Peter, while Scottish-born actress Lilly-Jane Young plays Wendy. Dutch actor  Milan Van Weelden, plays Captain Hook, in a cast filled with actors from a plethora of different nationalities.

Also at the opening night of the new musical wasformer rugby star and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Ben Cohen.
